King Me met in a living room early 1999. At first it was just a gathering of some friends who wanted to record some songs for private use. As by bizarre coincidence it was cheaper to press 1000 CDs than 300, so some CDs were send to magazines. A few weeks later King Me got a call to play Paradiso, Amsterdam. In a hurry a stage band was formed and from then on King Me always has been somewhere between a project and a real band. A lot of radio shows and concert venues followed. A record deal was signed. King Me played with bands like Timesbold, Herman Düne, Dead Brothers, Daryl Ann, Swearing at motorists, Dead Man Ray, Sin Ropas, Coparck, the Ex, the Gathering and Bettie Serveert. CDs got wonderful press reviews as well as some really bad ones (chosen by VPROs Jaap Boots as worse band of the year). Records were released in Holland, Italy, Belgium, USA, Spain and Portugal. King Me's latest album is called "Guide Down" and was recorded at Studio Metro and at King Me's homestudio, "De Jaap Boots Loods". It will be released in January 2007. King Me is also a band from Wichita, KS whose debut album, About Life, was released in 1998. They have another album, This Place & Time, released in 2017. Their current members are Luke Carter as lead vocalist, Steve Green on bass guitar, Pete Dawson on drums, and Jason Smith on lead guitar. Read more on Last.fm.
